According to the data delivered by companies dealing with the resale of used vans, Mannheim and BCA among them, January 2010 was another month which saw an increase in the prices of second hand light commercial vehicles. The average wholesale prices of used vans in January 2010 were an estimated four percent higher compared to December 2009 and stood at around 3,800 pounds. This four percent is equal to some 150 pounds on average. It is also noted that January was the sixth consecutive month of the rise in prices of used vans. And now, comparing with January 2009, it seems that the average wholesale price of used vans is up by almost 45 percent (higher by some 1,210 pounds). And the value of used vans increased along with the prices. The age of used vans offered for resale at auctions rose by two months and the average mileage by some five thousand miles. Yet, as most market analysts say, the market place for used vans remain robust despite the not-always-good economic environment and that the outlook for the New Year 2010 is still very positive. Companies dealing with the resale of used vans also note that the business confidence is slowly beginning to return, which results in a high demand for light commercial vehicles at auctions. They predict that it will not be until September this year that new vehicle purchase will prevail.
