The Years 2004 – 2008 (the social phenomenon still continues, to a lesser scale though) were the peak of people emigration to the United Kingdom. For various and numerous reasons, hundreds of thousands of peoples travelled to England and Scotland looking for brighter future. Except for plenty of other effects of that wave, in many less expensive countries we started to see more and more used Vauxhall cars on the roads. Why so? Used Vauxhall cars are relatively cheap and popular in UK – the reasons good in themselves. What is more, used Vauxhall autos are probably the friendliest brand when it comes to switching a vehicle from right-hand to the left-hand side of the steering wheel. Finally the difference between a used Vauxhall and a used Opel is the one of the emblem and the wheel mentioned above; these are practically the same cars, so maintenance and spare parts are pretty low-cost, and the poorer people are well familiarised with the brand. All in all, multiple emigrants coming back home dragged back a used Vauxhall along, or even made a good business of hauling various models of used Vauxhall cars, switching the wheel, doing all the paperwork and selling them for a good price.
